Written to be read alone
Five to eight years old: short sentences, one idea per page and a visual joke every second one. If a six-year-old cannot follow it unaided, it is badly written and gets rewritten.
Kosmo records what is happening now. Mila opens a window onto the past. Between them they tell a city, a museum, or thirty women who changed the world, for children aged 5 to 8.
A short film with the pages turning: how drawing and text share the spread, where the jokes land and how it looks printed.
Kosmo wears violet and carries a sun on his medallion; his antenna records the present and sends it to the Great Galactic Exploration Centre. Mila wears orange and carries a moon; hers opens a window onto the past. With that division of labour the two of them can land anywhere in the world and tell the whole of it: what you see today and what stood there two hundred years ago. With a fair number of mishaps along the way.

Behind the jokes there are real monuments, checked dates and people who actually existed. The child laughs; what stays is the other part.
A5 landscape, FSC-certified paper and vegetable inks. A book that gets handled, dog-eared and is still in one piece two years later.
A children's book full of facts and pretty drawings gets flicked through and put down. A story with two protagonists who get things wrong, get lost and laugh gets read from start to finish and asked for again the same night. That is the whole difference, and it is why Kosmo and Mila work as well in a museum shop as on a bedroom shelf.
